In 1936 Martin Magnusson began making riveted leather gloves for the lumberjacks around Hestra, a village in the forests of Småland in southern Sweden. When a slalom slope opened on the nearby Isaberg hill a year later, his gloves moved to the piste. The Magnusson family, now in its fourth generation, still runs the company, which makes more than 400 models, from ski gloves and mittens to fine leather pairs for the city.
