Moncler

Moncler takes its name from Monestier-de-Clermont, the Alpine village near Grenoble where René Ramillon and André Vincent founded it in 1952 to make sleeping bags, tents and quilted jackets. Mountaineers followed, from Lionel Terray to the Italian expedition that first climbed K2 in 1954, and the down jacket came down to the ski slopes and the city. Remo Ruffini bought the company in 2003, moved it to Milan and made it a luxury house, adding the Genius collaborations in 2018 and Stone Island in 2020.
