The original PloProf (a contraction of plongeur professional) was launched in 1970, shortly after its arch rival, the Rolex Sea-Dweller. The PloProf was one of the first to feature scratch-resistant mineral crystal as the dial glass, and also had a push-button bezel-locking system, an imposing steel case built around big angles and an oversize crown protector design to mach. The result was unlike anything seen before, with technical credentials to match or surpass anything else a diver could buy. This modern version sticks closely to the groundbreaking and beloved original, updating it with even better technology and an imcredible depth rating of 1,200m. With a case measuring 55x48mm, this is a hefty watch with the weight to match, but it's nothing if not reassuring when it comes to reliability and professionalism.
