This is a special edition from Omega's “Olympic Timeless” collection. Omega has played an important role in the Olympics as official timekeeper since the 1932 Games in Los Angeles. That year marked the first occasion on which timekeeping had been delegated to a private company; it was also the first time that athletic times at the Games had been recorded to within one tenth of a second. Omega's Olympic sponsorship has only flourished in recent years, growing to include Winter Olympics and an ever-expanding array of wonderful limited edition commemorative watches. This particularly fine example features subdials arranged as Olympic rings (left to right: small seconds, 7-day totaliser, day of the week, chrono hours and chrono minutes) and a caseback engraved with the real logo along with the words “Official Timekeeper”.
