Cartier created the original model for this timepiece in 1904 at the request of Brazilian aviator Mr Alberto Santos-Dumont, who wished for a large-faced wristwatch that would allow him to quickly tell time while flying. The distinct squared case on this 31.4mm model is made from steel, which houses a silver sunray dial marked with bold Roman numerals and blued steel hands. The bezel is punctuated with visible screws, a signature technical detail of the maison. It includes a supple alligator strap in coordinating navy blue, use the Ardillon buckle to size it appropriately.
