Nigel Cabourn Mallory Jacket

by Nigel Cabourn
A design with as rich a history as the heroic individuals that inspired it, the Mallory Jacket was originally dubbed the Sherpa, then the Tenzing after the legendary mountain guide Tenzing Norgay, it received its current moniker after the body of George Mallory was finally recovered from the slopes of Everest after his ill-fated final adventure. A Nigel Cabourn staple, the Mallory Jacket is based on the Military Issue 3-Piece Harris Tweed Suit Mallory equipped himself with for that final fateful excursion. This new iteration is cut from a classic Harris tweed in a herringbone design, with shoulder and elbow panels made from a highly water-resistant densely woven L34 cotton ventile, originally developed by the Shirley Institute during WWII for the Royal Air Force. 100% Harris Tweed Wool 100% Cotton Lining Ventile-Reinforced Shoulder & Elbow Panels Bespoke Union Knopf Buttons Two Front Flap Pockets Single Flap Chest Pocket Made in England
