Embracing the Speedmaster's amazing legacy in space exploration, the X-33 was designed as the future of space-worthy tool watches. Using a cutting-edge quartz movement, the display incorporates both a “liquid crystal” digital screen and analogue hands (and bezel). Designed and used by astronauts and aviators, including on the International Space Station, the X-33 has here been reimagined in a colourful limited edition in honour of the extraordinary HB-SIA Solar Impulse—a Swiss-lead project that aims to create and fly a plane around the world using only solar energy. The watch features a titanium case and NATO strap, as well as the Solar Impulse patch engraved on the caseback with the words “TESTED AND QUALIFIED BY ESA” (European Space Agency).
