IWC Aquatimer IW379503

by IWC
New in 2014, this remarkable chronograph pays tribute to the fateful voyage of Charles Darwin in the 1830s on the HMS Beagle. The legendary expedition incorporated the Galapagos Islands, where Darwin first conceived the ideas behind the theory of evolution. This special Aquatimer was made in support of the Charles Darwin Foundation, which works to conserve the unique ecology of the Galapagos. It is remarkable for its beautiful and innovative use of bronze in the case (a first for IWC) – a key material in 19th century shipbuilding and one that acquires a distinctive patina with age, demonstrating Darwin's observation that “nothing is more constant than change”. There's also a superb in-house flyback movement and the brand's new “SafeDive” bezel, which prevents accidental changes to dive times.
This IWC has undergone a thorough inspection of accuracy, functionality and condition at our IWC certified service centre to determine the level of reconditioning required to meet our strict standards.
