The Omega Speedmaster, also known as the legendary 'Moonwatch', is one of the most iconic and distinguished collections ever made. It is best known for its work with NASA as the officially sanctioned chronograph for use in space. First certified as such in 1965, it was used by astronauts in Gemini and Apollo missions. The Speedmaster went on to be used not just on the moon, but in many other missions both in space and on earth. This fine numbered edition, however, celebrates a watch that preceded all of this: that worn by one of the very first astronauts of the Mercury Project, Wally Schirra. His watch has become known to posterity as the 'First Omega in Space'.
