The Planet Ocean’s bezel is a renowned scratch-resistant ceramic made of zirconium dioxide, but the silver markings on it are made from an even more unusual substance: Liquidmetal. The material was developed for its combination of low melting point and extreme hardness once cooled. Thanks to this and its amorphous, non-crystalline structure, Liquidmetal can be applied at just a tenth of a millimetre thickness. It bonds seamlessly with the ceramic bezel, boasting a completely smooth finish.
