Inspired by branding irons used to mark cattle skin and hides, Loewe 's signature anagram was first designed by Spanish artist Mr Vicente Vela in 1970 to reference the house’s heritage as a leather maker, and was recently revisited by Creative Director Mr Jonathan Anderson.
