Made to cater for the supremely sophisticated women of the time, Italian luxury brand Valextra began in 1937 as a marker of high society. Founded by Giovanni Fontana, the brand specialized in bags and luggage made from exotic materials, drawing inspiration from Fontana's bi-annual trips to Paris, France. Going down in history as an awardee of the "Compasso d’Oro” prize in 1954, Valextra's "24 Ore" bag cemented the brand's legacy as a forerunner in high quality luggage. Later expanding to cater to jetsetters and entrepreneurs, Valextra began manufacturing suitcases for ease of travel, and continued to grow its repertoire of patents for expertly designed bags for both men and women, beautifully crafted and of esteemed quality.
