Ray Ban

Bausch & Lomb launched Ray-Ban in 1937 with the Aviator, a green-lensed sunglass developed for American military pilots, and followed it in 1952 with the Wayfarer, whose trapezoid acetate frame was later worn by everyone from Bob Dylan to the Blues Brothers. Luxottica bought the brand in 1999 for a reported $640 million, and under what is now EssilorLuxottica it has added optical frames and, with Meta, camera-equipped smart glasses.
