Moncler Genius

The Moncler Genius project presents a series of innovative multidisciplinary collaborations with leading designers, including Simone Rocha and Noir Kei Ninomiya. Conceived of by Moncler CEO Remo Ruffini as a means of broadening the Italo-French brand’s conceptual universe further still, the capsule collections take iconic elements of style and reimagine them with an auteur’s vision. Noir Kei Ninomiya pares down and deconstructs iconic Moncler ready-to-wear staples in subdued monochromatic grandeur, adding perforated detailing, lace-up trim, unconventional tailoring and playfully altered puffer proportions. Achieving a sense of the dark sublime and space, the designer's imagination pulls the adventurous ethos of Moncler into uncharted, invigorating new territories. Simone Rocha’s contributions juxtapose old world formal elements like ruffled trim, and floral and lace fringe, as well as the inveterate leg-of-mutton sleeve, achieving a hitherto unseen blend of classicism and contemporary athleisure, post-normcore utilitarianism. Innovative yet infinitely wearable, the Moncler Genius project is a wildly productive experiment that has generated a host of new possibilities for après-ski apparel.
