Martine Rose, a British-Jamaican designer, founded her London menswear label in 2007 and built it on the rave, post-punk and hip-hop culture of her youth: exaggerated tailoring, football shirts, blown-up hoodies and bulbous trainers. She consulted for Balenciaga's menswear, has a long-running partnership with Nike that produced the Shox MR4 mule, and now designs for women too, showing in London.
