Maison Margiela Fragrance

Paris France

1988

In Paris, France in 1988, Belgian designer Martin Margiela founded his eponymous fashion house, Maison Margiela, be an iconic staple of all fashion insiders throughout the globe. Often lauded for his deconstructive take on fashion—similar to that of Comme des Garçons founder Rei Kawakubo—the fashion style grew to critical acclaim, and grew into several facets of fashion, eventually tackling menswear, accessories, and fragrances. Initially venturing into perfumery via a collaboration with global beauty giant L'Oreal in 2009, Maison Margiela Fragrances has come into its own as a brand. Housing various fragrance lines and a candle collection to boot, there's no end in sight for the meteoric rise of the fashion house.
