Sabae Japan

1972

eyevan.com

Founded in Kensuke Ishizu in 1972, Japanese eyewear label Eyevan 7285 is all about the elevation of Japanese craftsmanship and design practice to the world stage. Finding inspiration in the archives of EYEVAN, the brand looks back on the old and reworking the new, reimagining life of the past found in things beyond eyewear, such as telescopes and hand mirrors. Operating out of the Sabae in the Fukui Prefecture, also known as the "City of Glasses," conventional eyewear materials such as titanium and acetate discover new life at the hands of artisans who have elevated eyewear through sheer skill and craftsmanship.
