Emily Adams Bode Aujla founded Bode in New York in 2016 to make menswear from antique textiles: Victorian quilts, embroidered tablecloths, grain sacks and old linens, cut into shirts, jackets and trousers, many of them one of a kind. Bode Aujla became the first woman to show at New York Fashion Week: Men's, and the label was named Emerging Designer of the Year at the 2019 CFDA Awards and American Menswear Designer of the Year in 2021 and 2022. Womenswear followed in 2023.
