Christian Louboutin

After years developing his craft while working for Charles Jourdan, an apprenticeship with Roger Vivier, and freelancing for Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent and Vogue, Paris-born shoemaker Christian Louboutin established his eponymous label in 1992. His iconic shiny red lacquered sole, an idea born a year later when an assistant applying red nail polish inspired him, instantly became the label’s signature. His coveted “Louboutins” have since become synonymous with commanding empowerment, solidifying his notoriety as one of today’s leading luxury footwear designers. Following creative partnerships including a collaboration with David Lynch, a men’s line was introduced in 2010, where the label’s attention to detail and vision of glamour are translated through plush velvet loafers, formal brogues, and spiked leather sneakers.
