Mother of Pearl was the British sustainable womenswear label founded in 2002 by Maia Norman and later led creatively by Amy Powney. Its London wardrobe made transparency, natural materials and social responsibility feel sharp rather than dutiful, before the label closed as Powney moved on to Akyn.
