Jesse Dorsey, a Montrealer from the music business, and the Bangkok-born Wannasiri Kongman, nicknamed Boy, founded BOYY in New York in 2006 as an antidote to the frilly, blingy It bags of the day. Their handbags, with the oversized, belt-like buckle that became the house signature on styles such as the Bobby and the Karl, have a deliberately masculine, rough-edged character, and the label is now based between Bangkok and Milan.
