Siblings Dilan and Lezan Lurr, born in Kirkuk in Iraqi Kurdistan and raised in Sweden, where both studied civil engineering, founded Namacheko in 2017. Its first collection began as costumes for a short film about their cousins' lives in Kirkuk, inspired by Kurdish wedding dress, and was bought straight away by The Broken Arm in Paris. The Antwerp-based label shows at Paris Fashion Week, where its crisp shirting, pared-back knitwear and quietly unusual tailoring carry echoes of Kurdish dress.
