Brought to life from designer Philippe Starck's blueprint sketches on a pizza napkin in 1998, Alessi's Juicy Salif citrus squeezer is an iconic piece of design. With its unconventional appearance, the item is supposed to function as a conversation starter as well as a tool for extracting juice according to Starck, and it does just that with its three exaggerated legs, pip-shaped juicer, and sculptural form.
