Established by husband-and-wife duo Caleb Lin and Christina Chou, alongside their close friends Julia Chu and Calvin Nguyen, Los Angeles-based men’s label Goodfight launched in January 2017. Lin, Chu, and Nguyen originally met working at Opening Ceremony and later American Rag Cie, while Chou is currently an agent with CAA: the group is no stranger to the menswear industry and this quiet confidence is all too evident in their stoically self-aware tailoring and refined silhouettes. Conceived during a late-night conversation between Lin and Chou regarding ‘simple things that are important to them,’ the label aims to challenge traditional notions of gender by advancing predominantly androgynous forms and fabrications. Classically-shaped bombers and coach jackets, and beautifully draped baggy trousers cut from custom-developed fabrics allow for a luxurious and versatile garment. Rich, sun-faded colors round out a line of clean button-down shirts, sophisticated vests, as well as muscle and baseball shirts, while relaxed fits and vintage-inspired tailoring on Ringside trench coats and Sunday’s Best trousers alike evoke a memorable LA-casual vibe.
