British retailer END. continues its collaborative partnership with ASICS this season, following up 2018’s ‘Wasabi’ with the GEL Lyte III ‘Pearl’. Traditionally given as a 30th anniversary gift, the pearl symbolises something that takes time to grow – fitting given the Shigeyuki Mitsui-designed sneaker turns 30 this year. The premium construction, teaming luxe suede with supple leather, is cast in a cascade of purples, ivory white and grey to reflect the iridescent nature of pearls, while the split-tongue design pays tribute to the model’s performance roots.
