Facetasm

Japanese streetwear label Facetasm debuted to enthusiasm in the spring of 2007. Often exalted as the perfect distillation of Tokyo style and culture, Facetasm was founded by Hiromichi Ochiai, a graduate of Bunka Fashion College and a former textile worker at Guildwork. Since its inception, Ochiai has consistently delivered street-inspired, nonlinear compositions for men that showcase a ‘cut-and-paste’ style aesthetic. References abound, urban and sportswear-influenced pieces are spliced together blurring the lines between garment categories. Layered compositions make up avant-garde silhouettes including deconstructed pinstripe suiting, Americana plaids, or unexpected variations on striped and camouflage patterns. Satin bomber jackets, raw denim jeans, and wool twill trousers make appearances with slight adjustments to trim, hem, or classic tailoring that act as a reminder of the perfectly dissonant, unconventional design aesthetic that Facetasm excitedly offers.
